Things that might get labour started include:
1. Have sex – semen contains natural prostaglandins, the hormone used in induction, and getting your man to stimulate your nipples can kickstart the production of oxytocin, nature’s labour hormone
2. Go for a long walk – not a ten mile hike – stay close to home in case things start happening, but keeping active may speed things up.
3. Pick up a pineapple – it contains an enzyme called bromelain, normally used to reduce swelling. It may also soften the cervix and so help to start labour.
4. Sip raspberry leaf tea – raspberry leaves have a stimulating effect on the uterus, so four cups a day can help things along. But don’t do this beforee week 34.
Chew on a chilli – spicy curries are notorious for getting things moving in the bowel department, which may have a knock-on effect on your uterus.
